Minimum Qualifications
• Five or more years of experience in maintenance in pumps and piping systems;
• Knowledge of servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of pumps and piping systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Associate Degree from a regionally accredited institution in Industrial Systems Technology or related field and five years of work experience in the maintenance industry;
• Prior teaching experience in higher education;
• Knowledge of servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of maintenance pumps and piping systems;

1. Excellent understanding of scientific and technical principles relevant to the assigned class or classes), e.g., Knowledge of servicing, troubleshooting, and installation of maintenance equipment.
2. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relation skills.
3. Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
4. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
5. Ability to think creatively and put ideas into action.
6. Ability to make presentations to classroom audiences at an appropriate level.
7. Computer skills necessary for maintenance of course records and communication with students and program/departmental faculty and staff.
8. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
9. Understanding of the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.
Essential Functions
1. Able to instruct students in various maintenance skills.
2. Meet with class for assigned hours and deliver relevant instruction in lecture and laboratory settings as appropriate; file appropriate class cancellation forms as needed when class cannot meet, scheduling make-up work or meetings consistent with college policy.
3. Maintain class electronic attendance records in a timely fashion.
4. Develop and maintain a consistent policy for course evaluation (grading).
5. Communicate course expectations to students in a consistent and understandable manner, e.g., by developing a syllabus consistent with college policies.
6. Respond to student questions and complaints as appropriate, and in a manner consistent with college policies.
7. File electronic grade reports in a timely fashion, consistent with deadlines.
8. Maintain course records as needed for documentation of grading and for use in tracking of student learning outcomes as needed.
9. Assist in maintenance of safe and orderly instructional spaces as needed.
