Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in human services, behavioral science or a directly related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years related experience in teaching, career and educational counseling or testing.

3. Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
4. Experience/training in working with computer systems and software; data entry and word processing skills.

6. Familiarity with literacy issues, the mission of community colleges and the role of student development support in Adult Education.
7. Valid driver’s license.

Essential Functions

The HSE Examiner functions as a member of the College and Career Readiness Department’s ABE/AHS/HSE team. Primary responsibilities are to conduct the HSE testing process and to provide advisement and support to students enrolled in College and Career Readiness Programs. The position will perform tasks as needed, related to the broader mission of the department as well as those related specifically to maintaining secure testing standards, student development, academic achievement, and student-centered support services, with a special emphasis test security.

Job Duties

1. Work directly with the College and Career Readiness faculty and staff in developing and maintaining appropriate HSE testing standards, procedures, and security measures.
2. Assist students by scheduling appointments, providing an optimal testing environment, interpreting test scores, and maintaining confidentiality of records.
3. Administer HSE tests and keep records for HSE examinees.
4. Oversee the administration of HSE tests using non-standard procedures for individuals with documented disabilities.
5. Maintain inventory of testing materials; reorder as necessary.
6. Enter test data, edit data, and back up data.
7. Prepare schedules for HSE testing.
8. Serve as a liaison to community referral agencies that may assist in serving the special testing needs of individual students.
9. Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Dean of College and Career Readiness, the Division Vice President, or the President.

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, at times, 5-10 lbs.

Required Working Hours

A twenty-five hour week established to adequately fulfill the assigned duties and responsibilities. The schedule may involve day and night work. Summer schedules may vary to enable four-day or four and one half-day work weeks. Some evening work will be
