About Westchester Community College:
Westchester Community College was founded in 1946 as the New York State Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences in White Plains. In 1957, the County of Westchester bought the 360-acre John Hartford estate in Valhalla and designated 218 acres for the community college. Westchester Community College is more than just the county's largest educational institution. The School of Health Careers, Technology, and Applied Learning seeks two (2) incumbents to facilitate career education initiatives and activities for students in Perkins-eligible degree plans. They will coordinate career education activities to disseminate relevant labor market and career information based on curriculum; support the development of industry partnerships to promote workforce engagement, job shadowing, and mentorships; provide the school dean with reports on key Perkins metrics and students' at-risk and on-track progress; update current labor market information related to Perkins degree pathways; support and coordinate efforts that promote non-traditional program enrollment; and support dual/concurrent enrollment programs. The incumbents will also perform related administrative tasks such as reporting requirements or implementation activities to ensure the effectiveness of the Perkins grant.
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in the field of education, educational administration, recruitment and/or training, or in the analysis of program operations, or customer services are required. The candidate must possess experience within a collegiate environment to understand the academic culture and must have the ability to interact effectively with faculty, staff, students, parents, and administrators. This position requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs. The candidate should also have an understanding of experiential education and career education.
HOURLY RATE OF PAY: $34.60 per hour. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
