Enrolled in an Associate Degree plan at Durham Technical Community College. Students must be approved by the Financial Aid Department

Work Experience

Completed CIS 110 with a grade of C or better, or have passed the Durham Technical Community College computer competency exam.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Evidence of strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and effective oral and written communication/public relations skills.
2. Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
4. Good computer skills as evidenced by experience competence with Microsoft Office products.
5. Personal integrity, honesty, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
6. Understanding the mission, goals, and objectives of a community college.

Essential Functions

The work of the Human Resources Office Assistant will serve as support staff to the Human Resources Office. This will include performing general office duties requiring the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods. This person is considered a member of the Human Resources office team and is expected to demonstrate professional behavior at all times. The Human Resources Office Assistant should report to work as scheduled.

Job Duties

1. Provide office support and assistance to Human Resources that will include, filing, scanning, photocopying, and reception desk duties.

2. Create, organize, and maintain records.

3. Perform other appropriate duties that may be necessary to support the needs of the Human Resources Office team as assigned.

Required Working Hours

A maximum of a 20-hour work week as determined with the supervisor. May not work during scheduled class time.

Hiring Range

$14.00 per hour
