Position Information Posting Number 13T3NWITTemp Posting Title Information Technology Technician - Temporary, Part time Pool Position Position Type Temporary - Part time 20 - 29 hr/wk Department Northwest Campus Minimum -Maximum Salary $17.49 Salary Breakdown Hourly Job List External Close Date Open Until Filled No Position Summary The Information Technology Technician performs skilled technical level duties in the operation and support of PC hardware and software, scheduling and controlling computer production processing, the operation and support of telephone and data network equipment, or the maintenance of personal computers in a networked environment. Duties and Responsibilities Schedule and deliver computers and equipment needed for academic and administrative purposes; install, configure, program, test, and/or operate a variety of equipment Troubleshoot, track and resolve problems; review schedules or work orders for timely and appropriate action; prepare and maintain daily activity logs Perform technical support for end-users Maintain and repair equipment Monitor systems; take appropriate corrective action or refer escalated issues to supervisor Perform system back-up and restoration procedures Compile information for reports and presentations Order computer supplies and equipment as directed; assist with the removal or disposal of outdated supplies and equipment following established procedures Basic programming of macros, web pages, and other routine applications Organize, maintain, verify, and update operational procedures and manuals Perform other duties of a similar nature or level Job Requirements High School Diploma or General Equivalency Degree Two years computer technical experience OR Candidates who possess similar minimum objective qualifications are encouraged to apply and should describe in detail the work experience and education regarded as establishing the equivalency The successful candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Applicable hardware, software, and peripheral equipment Basic computer system or data network administration principles Customer service principles Utilizing databases and compiling statistical information Troubleshooting and repairing computer or network hardware, software, and peripheral problems Providing end-use support Reading blueprints Communicating technical information to a non-technical audience Configuring and monitoring work stations and servers Performing basic database administration Installing computer or network hardware, software and peripherals Operational documentation techniques Basic programming Basic client/server environment principles Computer or network back-up and restoration principles Communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor and the general public sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction Benefits Benefits required by law will be provided.
