|Essential Functions of Position|
Provide quality instructions, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of adjunct faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Adjunct instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.
1. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution plus four to six years full-time industry related experience in Cancer Information Management OR an Associate Degree plus six years full-time industry related experience in Health Information Technology and Cancer Information Management; OR
2. A combination of education and other accomplishments that are equivalent to the above (If claiming equivalency, attach a separate statement which presents the basis for this claim and submit supporting evidence, e.g. transcripts, publications, other work products); OR
3. Possession of a Lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential in Health and Physical Care Services and Related Technologies. AND, in addition to the above requirements, must also have 4. Credential as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) [the copy of the certificate to be submitted] 5. Experience in developing and teaching web-based courses, OR willingness to become proficient in web-based teaching methodology and related technology prior to starting faculty position.
